Orphans' Court
of Jefferson County Pennsylvania

The Orphans' Court is the court where the accounts of executors, administrators and guardians are filed and, after due notice to the parties in interest, are brought before the judge for confirmation. Sometimes objections are filed to theses accounts and in those cases a court appointed auditor must resolve the objections with final approval by the judge. Orphans' Court is also where proceedings involving adoptions, termination of parental rights, and incompetency proceedings are handled.
